A masterbatch should do more than give plastic the right colour. It must suit the material, disperse evenly and deliver a consistent result in future production runs.

That is why Italmaster develops masterbatches according to each customer’s product and production process.

A custom colour

Italmaster has its own laboratory and a database of more than 10,000 colours.

A colour can be developed using:

• a physical sample
• LAB values
• a RAL, Pantone or NCS reference
• the customer’s specific requirements

Once a colour is approved, the formula and colour sample are retained. This makes it possible to reproduce the colour for future orders.

Masterbatches with specific properties or special effects

Italmaster also develops masterbatches with additional properties and effects, including:

• light and weather stability
• temperature resistance
• antistatic or conductive properties
• flame-retardant properties
• metallic, pearlescent or fluorescent effects
• marble, Mortex or Corten-steel appearances

Colour pigments and functional additives can also be combined in one formulation.

Flexible production in Belgium

Italmaster develops and produces approximately 600 tonnes of masterbatch each year at its site in Gentbrugge, Belgium. Its flexible production process supports both smaller and larger quantities.

Quality is monitored in the company’s own laboratory. Italmaster is also ISO 9001:2015 certified.
