The role of masterbatch in the production process of plastics.

Did you know that our masterbatch is an important raw material in the production process of plastics?

Masterbatch is used to give your plastic end product an attractive colour. In combination with the right additives, masterbatch also adds important functional properties to your plastic end products.

 

Masterbatch consists of the following components:

1. Polymers

The customer informs us of the correct type of polymer to be colored by our masterbatch.

2. Pigments

Our colorists select the right pigments that together form the desired color.

3. Additives

The addition of additives can give important functional properties to the plastic end product. These can be mechanical, thermal or optical properties. Just think of increased UV resistance, flame resistance or, for example, a metallic or glitter effect.

The productionproces:

The plastic processor then incorporates our masterbatch into its production process: a small percentage of our masterbatch is mixed with its chosen polymers.

Our masterbatch is suitable for the following processing processes:

• Profile or plate extrusion
• blow moulding
• Roto molding
